The Hanoitimes - A survey, known as PAPI, released today shows positive change in corruption control in Vietnam public sector. Findings from the Vietnam Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) survey in 2017 show remarkable changes in corruption control in public sectors, among six dimensions of governance. That is the area where the greatest gain was recorded, with 33 provinces improving their scores in 2017, in which Quang Ninh, Bac Lieu, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Lao Cai and An Giang get 20% or higher increase in scores than last year. PAPI survey in 2017 is released today Besides, six provinces seeing most declined scores in corruption control are Dak Nong, Hung Yen and Hai Phong with decreases of at least 9 percentage points for each. The others discharged in the case are Banwari Lal Sharma, Dalbir Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Mohan Singh, Balbir Singh, Jagmohan Gupta, Azad Kasana, Harish Singh Rawat and Anand Singh Bisht. The case concerns a demonstration organized by volunteers of India Against Corruption (IAC) against coal scam outside then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s house. When the demonstration began proceeding to the PM’s house, the Police had used tear gas and water cannons to stop them. An FIR was then registered against them under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code, including those for rioting and unlawful assembly, and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984.
