Charles Leclerc left the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in a defiant mood after Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix and insisted that he can overhaul Max Verstappen to win this year’s world championship. The 24-year-old Monegasque Ferrari driver is 49 points adrift of Red Bull’s world champion, who on Sunday reeled off his sixth win of the season, but still believes it is not an insurmountable deficit. Leclerc finished fifth after a storming, if frustrating, race from the back of the grid having been handed a grid penalty for taking a new power unit. “Reliability is a concern for everyone this season,” said Leclerc. “But if we can fix that, we have the performance to come back and so, from Silverstone, we will be trying to gain points back. “Forty-nine points? Two victories and it is done!” Verstappen admitted after Sunday’s tense finish that he did not have the pace to beat Carlos Sainz, in the second Ferrari, without defending hard for the last 15 laps as the Spaniard did all he could … [Read more...] about F1: Defiant Charles Leclerc Insists Ferrari Can Beat Red Bull and Max Verstappen

(Credit: @JeremySWallace) NEW You can now listen to Fox News articles! Texas is unlikely to adopt the red flag law provisions included in bipartisan gun control legislation set to advance in the U.S. Senate Thursday even if the bill fast-tracked after the Uvalde massacre does pass, according to reports. The current draft of the 80-page Bipartisan Safer Communities Act will make $750 million in federal funding available to help states administer a red flag law if they have or pass one – though states without them could also qualify for the money by adopting other policies unrelated to guns. Where is abortion legal? In red states, women navigate a chaotic abortion landscape
ATLANTA — The impact was immediate: the moment the U.S. Supreme Court struck down Roe vs. Wade , Robin Marty, the operations director of the West Alabama Women’s Center in Tuscaloosa, told nurses, desk staff and a doctor on Friday they could no longer provide abortions. “I can’t believe they f—ing did it,” she said via phone. “You have to stop now!” Just as Roe was a landmark case for women’s rights in 1973, its reversal Friday is a resounding, if expected, ruling that will again reshape abortion in this volatile and divided nation. It left millions of women in conservative states wondering what their options are. Marty’s clinic staff had to tell more than 20 patients in their waiting room that they could continue their ultrasounds and counseling, but could not have their abortions. Then they began calling up about 100 patients, one by one, to cancel appointments and refer them to a clinic about 200 miles away in Atlanta, where the procedure is still legal. But the Atlanta … [Read more...] about Where is abortion legal? In red states, women navigate a chaotic abortion landscape
Giuliani Sounds Like He’s Ready to Put His Kid on Mount Rushmore
In a virtual press conference Thursday attended by fewer than 30 people—including the PR consultants hosting the event—former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani compared his son, who is hoping to be elected New York’s GOP candidate for governor next week, to Donald Trump, Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, and…himself. Giuliani, who appeared to encounter brief technical issues when logging onto the sparsely populated Zoom meeting, described Andrew , 36, as “tough as nails,” boasting that his boy had been endorsed by Trump cronies and convicted felon Mike Flynn and Steve Bannon, who was charged with felony fraud in 2021 but pardoned by Trump hours before the ex-president left office. However, Giuliani also said that Trump’s endorsement could potentially be detrimental to Andrew’s already slim chances, claiming that Trump has withheld his blessing out of his own benevolence. In rambling remarks that focused primarily on his own accomplishments running New York City, Giuliani took a … [Read more...] about Giuliani Sounds Like He’s Ready to Put His Kid on Mount Rushmore
Blue states mobilize to counter Roe v. Wade overturning
Officials from several Democrat-led states on Friday announced their commitment to protecting abortion rights in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court 's decision that overturns Roe v. Wade . According to the Guttmacher Institute, 16 states and the District of Columbia have laws in place that protect abortion rights. Some leaders pointed out existing legislation in their states while reaffirming their support of abortion rights, while others said they would be working on new laws to keep the procedure legal and accessible. The court's Friday decision strikes down the 1973 ruling on Roe , which protected women who seek an abortion "without undue restrictive interference from the government," guaranteed under the 14th Amendment. The case that led to the ruling on Roe is Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization . The court took up arguments in the Mississippi case in December, centered around a state law that makes most abortions illegal after 15 weeks of pregnancy, … [Read more...] about Blue states mobilize to counter Roe v. F1 news LIVE: Lewis Hamilton urged to step aside and retire from Formula 1
Formula 1’s rising popularity driven by Netflix series Formula 1 legends Sir Jackie Stewart and David Coulthard have urged Lewis Hamilton to ‘step aside’ and ‘retire’ from the sport to avoid the ‘pain’ of not being able to compete as he used to behind the wheel. Hamilton has struggled to adapt to Mercedes new W13 car in 2022 only finishing on the podium twice in nine races and has repeatedly been out-driven by teammate George Russell. He sits almost 100 points behind rival Max Verstappen in the standings and the Silver Arrows are still coming to terms with their car being the third-fastest on the grid. Stewart explained that he feels Hamilton is finding it difficult to handle the skill of his new teammate and doesn’t believe the seven-time wolrd champion can make it back to the top level of the sport saying: “He’s now struggling a little bit because he’s had a new teammate who’s been quicker than him in qualifying so far, which is gonna be difficult for him to handle. … [Read more...] about F1 news LIVE: Lewis Hamilton urged to step aside and retire from Formula 1
