World Children's Books The illustrator Antonio Lupatelli, who under the pseudonym Tony Wolf drew the much-loved penguin Pingu in a series of books, has died aged 88, according to Italian media. Lupatelli was born in 1930 in Busseto, Italy, and died in Cremona on May 18, La Repubblica reported. His long, prolific career saw him illustrating children's books and comics for European publishers, among them Fleetway in Britain and Fratelli Fabbri Editori and Lo Scarabeo in Italy. His best known work in his native Italy were his fairy tale creations, featuring dragons, gnomes and other mythical creatures. He regularly illustrated classic fairy tales and created “Fairy Tarot” cards. In the 1980s, he wrote and illustrated The Woodland Folk series. At various times in his career, Lupatelli was known by his real name, Tony Wolf, Oda Taro, L'Alpino and Antony Moore. SC Permits Delhi Police To Arrest Amrapali Group CMD And Two Directors

The bench comprising Justice Arun Mishra and Justice UU Lalit passed the order on ana applicationfiled by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Economic Offences Wing, Delhi Police Allowing the application, the court clarified, "We make it clear that the Delhi Police is free to arrest/take into custody any or all the other Directors of Amrapali group of companies. Any order passed by this Court in this case shall not come in their way to do so." A Supreme Court bench comprising of Chief Justice H.L. Dattu, Justice Madan B. Lokur and Justice A.K. Sikri yesterday quashed an order to summon Bharti Cellular Ltd. CMD Sunil Mittal and Essar Group promoter Ravi Ruia, the case concerning allocation of additional 2G spectrum in 2002.The Bench reasoned that the legal principle had been applied wrongfully by the Trial Court, citing their vicarious liability for acts of the companies. According to the Special Judge, these persons, prima facie, could be treated as controlling the affairs of the respective companies and represent the directing mind and will of each company. They were, thus, “alter ego” of their respective companies and the acts of the companies could be attributed and imputed to them. On this premise, the Special Judge felt that there was enough material on record to proceed against these three persons as well. ‘Energy Watchdog’ Challenges Shashi Shanker, Sambit Patra’s Appointments As ONGC CMD, Director
Energy Watchdog, a society working for protection of consumer interest in energy sector, has moved the Delhi High Court challenging the appointments of Shashi Shanker and BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra as the CMD and non-official director of Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), respectively.The petition, filed through advocate Prashant Bhushan, challenged the two appointments made in September 2017.It stated that Sambit Patra is the “official National Spokesperson of the ruling Party BJP at the Centre and is very active in day-to- day politics. He can be seen almost daily on television screens defending his party’s / Government’s position on various matters.
