The Archbishop of Canterbury has said a second referendum may be necessary as he warned a no-deal Brexit would be a "political, practical and moral failure". The Most Rev Justin Welby told the Lords that if Parliament fails to back a deal with Brussels it will have shown itself to be "unfit for the job". He warned that a no-deal Brexit could hit the "poorest and most vulnerable" communities the hardest and said warnings about huge queues of lorries at Dover are not "Project Fear". THE Archbishop of Canterbury met his wife Caroline Eaton whilst at university back in the 1970s. Justin Welby, 62, will officiate at the Royal Wedding on Saturday. He's apparently calming his nerves by listening to Stormzy - and, of course, his wife of nearly 40 years. But just who is Caroline and how many children do the couple have? Who is the Archbishop of Canterbury's wife Caroline Eaton? Caroline studied at University of Cambridge in the mid 1970s. She met Justin, who read history and law at the famous redbrick. They married in 1979 and Justin later went onto forge a successful career as an oil executive. When Justin trained to become a clergyman in Durham, it's reported he and Caroline lived on savings and lived for some years on the breadline. How many children do they have? THE Archbishop of Canterbury has again highlighted the plight of Christians in the Middle East, warning they are in danger of being wiped out. Condemning the treatment of those based in the Middle East, Justin Welby said: “Christians face daily the threat of violence, murder, intimidation, prejudice and poverty.” Writing for The Telegraph, before a special service at Westminster Abbey, Mr Welby said followers of the faith faced “imminent extinction”, and were subjected to the “daily threat of murder”. Churches must “strive for reconciliation” as “some politicians and political forces seek to drive a wedge between people”, the Archbishop said in a joint message with German Bishop Heinrich Bedford-Strohm. “European relationships are changing, not least as a result of Brexit,” the two clerics said. “We do not know what will happen and what the relationship between the UK and EU will look like after March 29, 2019.” The German bishop, council chair of the Evangelische Kirche in Deutschland (EKD), is on a two-day visit to London hosted by the Archbishop.
