THE term “public figures” used to mean politicians and actors. But now pupils are just as likely to talk to me about reality TV favourites and Instagram stars. Children are bombarded with images and ideas 24/7 and are easily influenced by what they see. So teachers have to help young people navigate this rapidly changing, highly visible world. And whether they like it or not, all public figures have a responsibility to remember that young people are watching everything they do. With this in mind, I make a point of watching reality TV. In schools up and down the country teachers use examples from shows such as Love Island or I’m A Celebrity to open discussions about behaviour, keeping yourself safe, morality, what’s good and what’s bad and how you need to think about other people’s feelings as well as your own. And some reality TV stars set a good example, just as some of our more traditional public figures leave a lot to be desired. It seemed to me … [Read more...] about Reality TV stars make better role models for schoolchildren than politicians

BIZARRE tributes to presenter Les Dennis have been popping up across Norwich - but the TV star insists "it wasn't him". Whoever is behind the mystery tags has kept things simple by just writing the words "Les Dennis" in brightly coloured spray paint on various buildings throughout the city. Making this even more strange is that Liverpool-born Les has very little ties to Norwich, but he did previous have a holiday home on the north Norfolk coast. Spotting the graffiti, that has been described as 'minimalist', Rob Setchell who works for ITV Anglia wrote: "Norwich appears to be the canvas for bizarre graffiti tributes to Les Dennis. "Several locations given the Les treatment. "Has anyone spotted one? "Does anyone know who is behind the 'SurreaLesm' movement?" Les himself replied to the tweet to simply deny any involvement in the artistic crime, he wrote: "it wasn't me" and retweeted. They have been spotted on bridges, the side of buildings and on signposts and the style is … [Read more...] about TV star Les Dennis denies being behind bizarre graffiti appearing across buildings in Norwich
DAVID Cameron hadn't even heard of Danny Dyer before the TV star called him a "t**t", it was revealed today. The TV hardman launched an attack on the ex-PM over the summer as part of an extraordinary rant about Brexit. He said on a special edition of Good Evening Britain back in June: "How come he can scuttle off... Where is he? In Europe, in Nice, with his trotters up, where is the geezer?" Today he continued his foul-mouthed tirade against the political elite - mocking Boris Johnson for his "stupid haircut" and "spouting b******s". And talking to Big Issue, he said Cameron he was a "posh t**t*... who purely for his own ego decided to call a referendum just to get rid of Nigel Farage." He went on: "Young people look and think: 'If these are the people running the country, why shouldn't I go and loot and riot?'" But it's no bother for the ex-PM, who is now writing a book about his time in office - and even doing a telly series too. It was reported today that Cameron was asked … [Read more...] about David Cameron admits ‘he hadn’t heard of Danny Dyer after TV star called him a t**t’
