Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz said it was a mistake for President Donald Trump to fire James Comey as FBI director. Dershowitz made his comments during a Thursday interview on Fox News' "America's Newsroom." "It was a mistake to fire Comey, because that's what led to the selection of a special counsel," he said. "Had he not fired [him], Comey would have persisted in his investigation. It would have been quiet. It would have been over a long time ago. So, I think [Trump has] made a number of mistakes. I think some of his tweets have been a mistake." He acknowledged Hillary Clinton would have likely fired Comey had she been elected president. "And it would have been a mistake there, too," he said.
