‘Top secret’ documents recovered in raid on Donald Trump’s home: U.S. court papers

August 13, 2022 by www.thehindu.com

The FBI recovered documents that were labeled “top secret” from former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, according to court papers released Friday after a federal judge unsealed the warrant that authorised the unprecedented search this week. A property receipt unsealed by the court shows FBI agents took 11 sets of classified records from the estate during a search on Monday. The property receipt is a document prepared by federal agents to specify what was taken during a search. Classified and top secret The seized records include some that were marked as classified and top secret. The court records did not provide specific details about the documents or what information they might contain. In a statement on Friday, Mr. Trump claimed that the documents seized by agents at his Florida club were “all declassified,” and argued that he would have turned over the documents to the Justice Department if asked. While incumbent presidents have the power to … [Read more...] about ‘Top secret’ documents recovered in raid on Donald Trump’s home: U.S. court papers

Hisense 26.6 Cubic Foot French Door Refrigerator review

August 6, 2022 by www.newsweek.com

The Hisense 26.6 Cubic Foot French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker is a beautiful refrigerator that looks more expensive than it is, includes excellent features and is a great way to bring more organization into your kitchen. Over the last several months, I tested the Hisense HRF266N6CSE refrigerator, which retailed for $1,599. I put this through the paces at home with two teens and a busy kitchen and fell in love with its interior water dispenser, innovative storage and modern style. Since that time, this model number was recalled due to loosening door hinges. The issue has been remedied, and the model name updated to HRF266N6CSE1 (also $1,599). Otherwise these refrigerators are identical. The Hisense offers a lot of storage inside. Yet it doesn't take up as much space as our previous refrigerator, thanks to its integrated door handles. TL;DR Pros : Modern, smart design Savvy use of interior space and organization Water and ice without an exterior … [Read more...] about Hisense 26.6 Cubic Foot French Door Refrigerator review

Kaiali‘i Kahele's decision to run for governor has opened up his congressional seat representing rural Oahu and the Neighbor Islands. In the U.S. Senate, incumbent Democratic Sen. Brian Schatz is also up for reelection and is facing a primary challenge from a little-known candidate. August 13, 2022 by www.newsweek.com

Hosts on Russia's state-owned Russia-1 television channel said that officials in Moscow have already been "studying" top secret and other classified documents the FBI sought through a search warrant of former President Donald Trump 's Mar-a-Lago resort home. The FBI, with the approval of Attorney General Merrick Garland , carried out a raid of Trump's Florida residence looking for top secret and sensitive compartmentalized information, as well as other classified documents, on Monday. The Washington Post reported on Thursday that records related to nuclear weapons were sought by the federal agents, but Trump described that reporting as a "hoax." Russia-1 reported on the raid in a segment shared to Twitter late Friday evening by Julia Davis, a columnist for The Daily Beast and the creator of the Russian Media Monitor. During the segment, state-run television host Evgeny Popov mentioned the reporting about nuclear weapons. "Turns out that the investigation against … [Read more...] about Moscow already “studying” top-secret records from Trump raid: Russian media

August 8, 2022 by www.thehindu.com

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on August 8 urged countries with nuclear weapons to stick to their no-first-use commitment of their atomic arsenals, warning that the nuclear arms race has returned amid growing international tension. “This is the moment … to ask the nuclear-armed countries to commit to the principle of non-first-use and to commit to not use and not threaten the non-nuclear countries,” Mr. Guterres said at a news conference in Tokyo, two days after he visited Hiroshima to commemorate victims of the August 6, 1945, atomic bombing. “I think that nobody, nobody can accept the idea that a new nuclear war would happen. This will be the destruction of the planet," Mr. Guterres said. "What is clear is if nobody uses for the first time then there will be no nuclear war.” Fears of a third atomic bombing have been on the rise amid Russia's threats of a nuclear attack since its war on Ukraine began in February. Explained: The seriousness of Putin’s … [Read more...] about United Nations chief urges nuclear powers to abide by no-first-use pledge
