Embarrassing Bodies will be making a comeback to E4 - but one of the show's famous faces is missing. Dr Christian Jessen won't be among this year's line-up of medical professionals as the programme makes its return. Instead, the brand new doctors appearing in the show include Dr Jane Leonard, Dr Anand Patel and Dr Tosin Ajayi -Sotubo. As per the premise of the show, the doctors will be on hand to help examine, explain, and hopefully provide treatment solutions for the patients’ ‘medical mysteries’, all whilst helping to destigmatise many common conditions that often go ignored or untreated. Dr Christian is notably missing, despite appearing on the show since 2007 and shooting to fame through his no-nonsense approach to giving medical advice to patients. A woman has sparked intense debate around the topic of body image after admitting she preferred her boyfriend when he was "chubby." According to the 2021 YouGov Body Image Study, 51 percent of Americans feel pressured to adhere to a certain body type. While women (60 percent) were found to be more susceptible to feeling some degree of pressure over their body image, a significant proportion of men (42 percent) also experienced similar emotions. These concerns filtered into many romantic relationships too, with 62 percent of respondents admitting to feeling worried about what their partner thinks of how they look. Though women led the way (67 percent) again, the majority of men (58 percent) had similar concerns. This weekend Alabama passed a brutally cruel law criminalizing health care for transgender youth. Discussion of this escalation of state violence and tyranny has been muted because politicians and activists have mostly been focused on the Supreme Court’s sweeping, horrifying threat to gut abortion rights . But the attack on trans people and the attack on pregnant people are both part of the same Christian theocratic authoritarian weaponization of health care. The number of monkeypox cases in the UK has risen to 57, the UK Health Security Agency said today. On Friday, there were 20 cases in England and that figure was expected to climb, with a further 36 now confirmed. Scotland today also recorded its first case, taking the total to 57. Dr Nick Phin, the medical and public health science director at Public Health Scotland, said the infected individual is "being managed and treated in line with nationally agreed protocols and guidance". Yesterday, it was reported that a child was said to be in intensive care with the virus. It does not usually spread easily between people. But can be passed on through close person-to-person contact or contact with items used by a person who has monkeypox, such as clothes, bedding or utensils. A mom and her boyfriend have been charged with murder after being accused of abusing and starving her 8-year-old twin daughters, one of whom has died. The couple, Soledad Mendoza and Ruben "Alex" Moreno, both 29, are alleged to have killed little Melanie Mendoza and caused the suffering of her sister at their home in Houston, Texas. Court documents seen by Fox 26 detail a catalog of alleged prolonged abuse of the children, including untreated fractured bones and clinical signs of starvation. When asked what happened to her twin by police, the surviving child allegedly replied: "My mom killed her."
