Small and perfectly formed: Honda Monkey reviewed
As I was bringing this week’s test bike out of my garage I bumped into my neighbour Justin. Now Justin is a pretty cool guy, runs his own jewellery business in the town along with his partner, has a distinctive and individual look, which usually includes a pork pie hat and a Fred Perry shirt, and enjoys a barbecue and some chilled music on a summer’s evening. Cool looks: The Monkey ( Image: Megan Rudd) “Is that a Monkey bike?” he says, stopping in his tracks. “It sure is, I reply. A brand new one.” “Wow,” says Justin, bending down for a closer inspection. “I remember those from back in the day. That looks pretty darn cool.” We chat a bit more while admiring the machine and he finishes by saying: “Well, you know, I have never really been interested in motorbikes, but I fancy one of those.” That says it all about this latest incarnation of this popular little motorcycle – there’s something about it people just love. Fraser contemplates the Monkey ( Image: … [Read more...] about Small and perfectly formed: Honda Monkey reviewed
What, no clutch? Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports DCT reviewed
With dual-sport or adventure-style motorcycles the most popular sellers in the market for quite a few years now, it is hard to imagine a time when they were still a rarity. One of those which set new standards in the developing category – and became iconic along the way – was Honda’s romantically named Africa Twin. The XRV650 Africa Twin was launched in 1988, but was soon replaced, in 1989/90, by the the XRV750 Africa Twin, based on the NXR-750, which had won that most romantic of adventure races, Paris-Dakar, four times in the late 1980s. Production of that model ceased in 2003, but in 2016, with adventure bikes all the rage and amid much hype and anticipation, Honda relaunched the AT in the shape of the CRF1000L. It quickly went on to become a best-seller. Stylish: Fraser on board the Africa Twin ( Image: Megan Rudd) This latest model I am testing here is the Adventure Sports and is also the DCT – Dual Clutch Transmission – or automatic version. Restaurant says customer is no longer welcome after making ‘too many complaints’
A Thai restaurant has hit back at a disgruntled customer saying they are no longer welcome after a string of complaints. The unhappy customer's latest review told how they had "spent thousands" at the Golden Elephant over the years where "things weren't always satisfactory." But while their previous complaints were "minor", it was not until a few weeks ago that they expressed full fury about their dining experience . They told of their disappointment after ordering a dish they knew they would like which arrived "so laden with salt" that they couldn't eat it, reports Cork Beo . "I had only eaten a couple of bites it was so salty. I was annoyed, as I don't eat there much now and I don't see why I should pay for something that was not fit for consumption," they said. The restaurant told the customer "you have a record of too many complaints" ( Image: Golden Elephant / Facebook) The Thai spot, in Douglas, Ireland, responded to the complainer to say "you have a … [Read more...] about Restaurant says customer is no longer welcome after making ‘too many complaints’
