Mark Wahlberg and Philadelphia 76ers guard/forward Jimmy Butler have known each other for years. However, Butler says his “best friend” isn’t Marky Mark himself, but a younger member of the Dorchester native’s family. In a conversation between Wahlberg and Butler published by Interview Magazine, the actor noted the lengths that Butler has gone in order to befriend Wahlberg’s daughter Grace, 9. “You’ve spent probably five years trying to win over my daughter’s friendship, literally going by yourself to watch her horse-riding competitions,” Wahlberg said. “Now you’ve become friends.” “That’s my best friend in the world, I’m not gonna lie,” Butler responded. “Once she trusts you, she’s on your side.” Butler also revealed that he took a cameo role in the 2016 comedy “Office Christmas Party” at Wahlberg’s suggestion, not realizing that Wahlberg … [Read more...] about Jimmy Butler says Mark Wahlberg’s 9-year-old daughter is his ‘best friend in the world’

Doug Ferguson, Ap Golf Writer Updated 3:48 pm PDT, Tuesday, September 11, 2018 NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. (AP) — Justin Rose would like to have changed how he reached No. 1 in the world. But not when. Rose felt emotionally conflicted when the BMW Championship ended in a light rain at Aronimink Golf Club. He was going for his third title in the Philadelphia area, including the U.S. Open he won at Merion five years ago. He hit what he thought was one of the better putts he had ever struck under pressure, a 15-footer for par in regulation, only to see it spin hard around the back edge of the cup. And then in a playoff, his 5-foot par putt missed to the left, making Keegan Bradley a winner for the first time in six years. The consolation prize was obvious: Rose replaced Dustin Johnson at No. 1 in the world. "In the moment, we're all about trying to win a golf tournament," Rose said. "But give me half an hour maybe, and I might be able to say I really enjoyed it." Reflection … [Read more...] about Column: The rise of Justin Rose to No. 1 in the world

When it comes to a sandwich, which is best? Are you a BLT kind of guy? Or perhaps cheese and tomato is more your thing? Over in Hoi An there’s only one place to go when it comes to a tasty snack and that’s Banh Mi Phuong. Six years ago, the late chef Anthony Bourdain popped in and described his banh mi as a ‘symphony in a sandwich’ – and it seems food lovers the world over took note. His critique has done the store no harm at all and business has boomed since that day. There are now as many customers coming for selfies as they are for sandwiches. Tourist Julie Chapman from New Zealand said: “This place was recommended and a lot of people want to come here so that’s good for the family that owns the restaurant. “I think it’s the way they cook the meat and I don’t think I could recreate that at home. I would give it a crack but I’m not sure it would taste as good.” Phuong Lan, whose … [Read more...] about Is this the best sandwich in the world?
