Kit unveilings are one of the few things that keep football fans interested throughout the lengthy and often tedious off-season. Well, it didn’t go as planned for Mineros de Zacatecas, a football team from Mexico. The team have been mocked online after the eagle-eyed supporters discovered something odd in the images of the club’s new jersey. Along with the beautiful art on the walls behind the players, there was an inappropriate sketch that was not spotted by the PR team. The club put together an exhibition of beautiful photographs of their players wearing the home and away kits, as well as the goalkeeping outfits. Everything looked to be going smoothly at first, with the photographs receiving several praises on social media. That was until fans started spotting the inappropriate and filthy graffiti in the backdrop. In the photo just above the player’s elbow, a sketch of male genitalia protruding like a sore thumb could be seen, completely ruining the promotional photograph. … [Read more...] about Inappropriate Sketch Overshadows Mexican Football Club’s Kit Reveal

Mum mortified by Boots mix-up as teen gets ‘dirty weekend kit’ instead of Disney items
A mum has claimed Boots sent her teenage daughter the wrong item in her online order - and the mix-up proved humiliating for both. Rather than sending the Disney-themed toiletries, including a Lilo & Stitch-themed face mask, what arrived was a 'dirty weekend away kit' which included some rather intimate items. Holly Anderson-Ross says 15-year-old Shannon was excited to try her new items, but the duo were left astounded when they opened the box to discover Durex 'Play' lube gel, Femfresh daily wash and wipes and a packet of 20 Wind-eze gel capsules. The red-faced 34-year-old said after seeing the array of wrong items her baffled daughter turned to her and asked: '"What do they think I want lube for?" Boots accept that an error was made on this occasion and they are 'working closely with the team' to understand how it happened and make sure it's not repeated. The Disney items Shannon innocently ordered... Thai Parents Make Offerings To Spirit Of Mythical Princess After Flood Traps Youth Soccer Team In Cave
A flood has trapped a youth soccer team in a cave in Thailand, prompting parents to plead mercy from the spirit of a mythical princess. The team’s 12 members, all aged 11 to 16, and their 25-year-old-coach became trapped in the cave Saturday after practice and have remained their since. Local legend holds that the ancient spirit of a princess who killed herself inside the cave now holds sway over the area and the surrounding mountains, leading parents and other community members to leave offerings and pray to the princess’ shrine in hopes that the spirit will release their boys safely. 2022 Toyota Glanza makes for a smooth drive
Toyota is leveraging its global partnership with Suzuki to share models and technologies, to establish its presence in the premium hatchback segment with the Baleno-based Glanza, which opens up its doors to a wider set of customers and increases overall sales volumes. Earlier this year, Maruti Baleno underwent a major transformation, and now, its Toyota equivalent follows suit. Like the Maruti, the Glanza gets a new petrol engine, an automated manual transmission (AMT), which replaces its CVT (automatic), gets some structural enhancements, completely new interiors and a laundry list of equipment. For the 2022 iteration, Toyota designers have gone to great lengths to establish family ties with its Toyota stable mates, unlike the 2019 iteration which looked identical to its Maruti twin. Its new, striking headlamps feature L-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps and are connected by a nicely stretched chrome band, which not only visually enhances the car’s width, but it appears to be … [Read more...] about 2022 Toyota Glanza makes for a smooth drive
Making laws work for rape victims
Today, the Justice Verma Committee is scheduled to release recommendations on ways to strengthen government’s response to crimes of aggravated sexual assault. There has been a lot of noise in the media calling for harsher punishment for rapists. The demands have only grown louder as details from the barbaric events of the December 16 gang rape and murder in Delhi come to light. While cries for chemical castration and even death for rapists stem from the brutality of the crime, they do not address the root problem: the criminal justice system does not function the way it is meant to function. In fact, the public’s frustration points to a decay of trust in the government’s ability to deliver justice and protect its people. There have also been quieter, more reasonable voices in the media calling for a stronger, more sensitive, criminal justice system: one that delivers justice swiftly, gives rightful convictions and treats victims with dignity and compassion. While the substantive and … [Read more...] about Making laws work for rape victims
On Day 2 of Virtual Meet, PM Modi Asks CMs to Make Full Use of Covid-19 Testing Capacity, Health Infra
Noting that the spread of COVID-19 is more in a few big states and cities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday asked chief ministers to make full use of their state's existing testing capacity and also work to augment health infrastructure. Speaking to chief ministers and representatives of 14 states and the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Modi said big crowds, lack of physical-distancing, daily movement of large number of people and small houses in some cities have made the battle against the coronavirus "more challenging". This was the second day of Modi's sixth round of consultations with chief ministers on fighting COVID-19 pandemic. Saving lives should be the top priority, he said, and called for expanding health infrastructure, according to a statement. People's discipline during the nationwide lockdown has stopped the virus' exponential growth, the prime minister said, adding that India is now better placed than earlier vis-a-vis treating patients, health … [Read more...] about On Day 2 of Virtual Meet, PM Modi Asks CMs to Make Full Use of Covid-19 Testing Capacity, Health Infra

The Guerrilla Art of the Yarn Bomb Goes Natural
Culture Art Relax. They didn't come from Mars or some distant, undiscovered galaxy. The 10 aliens (and their 24 tents) that appeared in the backcountry of Santa Barbara, California, in late January were conceived in the backyard of a hedge-fund manager turned yarn bomber. "Yarn bombing," for those out of the loop, is a public and oft-times guerrilla art form in which all kinds of objects, from parking meters to hulking vehicles, get covered in brightly covered yarn. Some may remember the Mexico City bus stitched over in 2008 by Magda Sayeg, often called the "mother of yarn bombing." Typically, yarn bombers ply their craft in urban areas for maximum exposure. But Steve Duneier, a 47-year-old Brooklyn, New York, native, is bringing it to the wild. "My goal is to draw more people into the wilderness, which I do by detonating massive, colorful yarn bombs in nature," says Duneier. (For the record, this project can't really be termed guerrilla, since he got a permit from the Los … [Read more...] about The Guerrilla Art of the Yarn Bomb Goes Natural
