It was a day when the students of Loyola Public School (LPS) put their best foot forward as they marched to the drum beat, sprinted like a wind and danced with gay abandon at the annual sports day. The sports meet -2014 was held in memory of Father Y. Papaiah, founder of LPS, Nallapadu. Joel Bitonio on Fans Booing Deshaun Watson: ‘More than Ever, Cleveland Against the World’
Deshaun Watson received a significantly less than gracious welcome when he took the field in Jacksonville this weekend for his first in-game NFL appearance in more than a year. Here’s a sampling of the welcome Watson received: Jaguars fans letting Deshaun Watson hear it! #NFL pic.twitter.com/dz3nKp7MXT — Blitz Guy (@BlitzGuyOG) August 13, 2022 That kind of reception is likely what Watson can expect at every NFL venue he travels to this year – if he plays this year. After all, the former Clemson product is still awaiting an NFL appeal of the 6-game suspension he recently received from a former federal judge after more than two dozen women accused him of varying degrees of sexual misconduct. One of the players charged with protecting Watson, Browns guard Joel Bitonio, was asked what he thought of the jeering and the prospect of additional jeers going forward. “You know, I think once Deshaun came out of the game we got booed less, but you go to a road game they boo … [Read more...] about Joel Bitonio on Fans Booing Deshaun Watson: ‘More than Ever, Cleveland Against the World’

AP source: Grizzlies in line for 1st game on Christmas
Merry Christmas, Memphis. The Grizzlies are in line to be part of that holiday’s NBA showcase for the first time. Ja Morant and the Grizzlies will face Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and the rest of the reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors on Dec. 25 in San Francisco, according to a person with knowledge of the league’s scheduling plans. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Monday because the league is not planning to release the season's full schedule until later this week. Given that the league has not announced the final 1,230-game season slate, it is still possible that the Christmas schedule could change — though such a move is unlikely. The Grizzlies were one of two current NBA franchises yet to have a game on Dec. 25. The Charlotte Hornets are now the only club still waiting for its first Christmas schedule invite. The rest of the Christmas schedule, the person said, will have Philadelphia facing New York, Milwaukee meeting Boston, … [Read more...] about AP source: Grizzlies in line for 1st game on Christmas
PICK SIX: Frost, Harsin among coaches in precarious spot
This is a carousel. Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate 6 Last season, 30 major college football programs made coaching changes, including some of the bluest bloods in the sport — Southern California, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and LSU among them — in what was a historic hiring cycle. All that movement portends a quieter carousel this season. Right? Life comes at college football coaches fast these days. The unforeseen aside, there are a few coaches clearly in need of a turnaround to keep their current gigs. SCOTT FROST, Nebraska Athletic director Trev Alberts' decision to bring Frost back for a fifth season after four losing ones could fairly be called unprecedented for a program of Nebraska's status.
