Zahid: BN’s resurgence proves leadership’s commitment at winning over voters
KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional’s resurgence, especially in the previous state elections, including in Sabah, is proof that the party’s leadership is committed and concerned about winning over Malaysian voters. Its chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the resurgence laid to rest claims that the 14th General Election in 2018 marked the demise of the coalition. "They had wrongly analysed and predicted BN's demise in 2018. Currently, there are four parties applying to join BN as core component members. "This means if Umno and BN and other component parties have reached the end of their political lifetime, it would be impossible for those parties to want to join BN. "Based on our resurgence, BN’s rise in Sabah in the state election; on our performance in the Melaka and Johor state elections, Insya-Allah, I am confident BN will rise once again in GE15,” he said during his speech at the Barisan supreme council members dinner with the Sabah Barisan leadership at the Umno … [Read more...] about Zahid: BN’s resurgence proves leadership’s commitment at winning over voters
Stop creating ‘imaginary’ factions within Umno, says Hishammuddin
KOTA KINABALU: Stop trying to create imaginary factions and create discord among Umno members, says Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein. The Sembrong Umno division chief described such actions by certain quarters purposely trying to make those within the party, particularly its leaders, clash with each other as “unhealthy”. This is after a list that went viral online, supposedly containing the names of senior Umno leaders who will be part of a so-called dream team in the party’s new leadership line-up in the era after the leadership of president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. “Personally, I feel such attempts must be stopped,” said the Defence Minister during an event at the Sepanggar navy base near here on Friday (July 1). “I hope there will be no parties, no matter at what level, trying to take advantage (of the current situation) by adding fuel to the fire and making our leaders fight. “This is not only unhealthy but also portrays and sends a message to outsiders that we … [Read more...] about Stop creating ‘imaginary’ factions within Umno, says Hishammuddin

PAS spiritual leader: Use own logo to win big
IT is better for PAS to contest in the 15th General Election (GE15) under its own logo Utusan Malaysia quoted the party’s spiritual leader Datuk Hashim Jasin as saying. He said voters are familiar with the party’s logo which had been used for the past 70 years. This, he said, will give its candidates the winning advantage. “The decision should be a joint one reached by the Perikatan Nasional presidential council,” he said. He said during the previous Johor and Melaka state polls, some voters had confused the Perikatan logo with the Barisan Nasional logo. PAS central committee member Dr Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki had also said previously that the party ought to use its own logo if it wanted to be victorious in GE15. He said the party should be given the leeway to do so especially at its strongholds where it had the potential to win. > A man was nabbed for cable theft on Thursday in Rembau, Negri Sembilan, reported Sinar Harian. “Preliminary investigations found that the suspect … [Read more...] about PAS spiritual leader: Use own logo to win big
