TEL AVIV – Arab Knesset member Haneen Zoabi (Joint List) said that Israel is “looking for an excuse to kill the Palestinians” and called on Palestinians to “march on Jerusalem” in support of the violent Gaza protests. TEL AVIV – Arab-Israeli Knesset members are collaborating with the Palestinian Authority in a smear campaign against the Jewish state at the United Nations, Israel’s envoy to the international body Danny Danon said on Sunday. “The Palestinian delegation, in cooperation with Knesset members from the Arab parties, is planning steps aimed at smearing Israel and damaging its image through incitement and lies,” Danon said.His remarks came after Joint (Arab) List MK Aida Touma-Sliman had a meeting with UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo in New York in a bid to garner support for the party’s campaign against Israel’s newly passed Nation-State Law. National Law University, Delhi is going to organise a play on the Great Trial of MK Gandhi and Shri Shankarlal Ghelabhai, held on Saturday, 18th March 1922, before Mr. C. N. Broomfield, I.C.S., District and Sessions Judge, Ahmadabad. They were tried on charges under Section 124 A of the Indian Penal Code,  on charges of Sedition and causing disaffection towards the British Indian Government.Along with The Great Trial, two short skits “Sharp Practice?” and ‘How a Client was Saved’ depicting the days of Gandhi Ji’s legal practice and his insistence on the use of ‘truth’ in his legal practice will also be staged.The event is the production of the 1st year students of B.A. LL.B. A Writ Petition has been filed in the High Court of Kerala, challenging the appointment of Senior Advocate Sri. M.K.Damodaran as Legal Advisor to the Chief Minister of Kerala, Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan. The petition has been filed by BJP State President Sri. Kummanam Rajasekharan. The Government had created the post of Legal Advisor, through a special order, to aid and advice the Chief Minister of Kerala. The order also specified that the post would have equal rank and status of Principal Secretary without any remuneration.In the petition, it has been averred that creation of the separate post of Legal Advisor is inconsistent with the existing norms and procedures. The petitioner contends that there cannot be any parallel post of legal Advisor, when the said duty to aid and advise the Government has been vested specifically in the Advocate General by virtue of relevant provisions of constitution. In a setback to the Delhi Government, the Delhi High Court ruled that MK Meena, who was appointed as the Delhi ACB Chief by the Lt. Gov. will continue to hold the position. Earlier, the Delhi Government had approached the Court after Lt. Gov. Najeeb Jung had appointed Meena, without even consulting the Delhi Government. However, the Court refused to grant the interim relief as asked by the Delhi Government.Arvind Kejirwal’s government had challenged the appointment in Court, saying that the Lt. Gov. does not have the power to appoint bureaucrats in Delhi. The Delhi Government had appointed SS Yadav to head its Anti Corrpuption Bureau, but the Lt.
