A female wolf has been illegally shot dead in Minnesota, leaving her fellow male wolf without a mate. The wolf was a breeding female belonging to the Tamarack Pack, which held a territory to the southwest of the wider Voyageurs ecosystem, in northern Minnesota. Before the female's death, the pack was only made up of one breeding pair. Following her death, the other breeding male became a lone wolf. The Voyageurs Wolf Project, a research group that studies wolves in the Voyageurs National Park by using GPS collars, said on Facebook that this brings the Tamarack Pack to an end "as [they] know it." Since the female's death, the project has seen the now-lone wolf wandering the wilderness on his own. The project said on Facebook that although this pack "is no more," it is anticipating new wolves to take over their territory very soon. "Vacant territories do not remain that way for long in our area and we will be keen to study the wolves that take over that territory," … [Read more...] about Female wolf illegally shot dead in Minnesota, leaves behind lone wolf male
Asylum seekers why its okay call them illegal people
Sabah leaders on both sides want illegals problem solved, says Kitingan
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah leaders from both sides of the political divide want to resolve the problem of illegal immigrants and stateless people in Sabah. Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan (pic) said all leaders, with the close cooperation with enforcement authorities, are working closely together to find a workable and acceptable solution to the problem. "However, the solution proposed by the Home Ministry to issue a document and call it 'kad warga asing' or 'foreign nationals' card' seems unacceptable to Sabahans. "Naming the document a 'non-citizen resident card' would be more acceptable because it immediately distinguishes these cardholders from genuine citizens," he said in a statement on Monday (May 16). On Saturday (May 14), Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said that Sabah leaders must have political will to resolve the illegal immigrants problem, and consider the proposal for the issuance of foreigner cards. Kitingan said the GRS-BN government … [Read more...] about Sabah leaders on both sides want illegals problem solved, says Kitingan
The Biden administration is blaming Trump for the border crisis—while using his methods | Opinion
The U.S. is in the midst of an unprecedented surge in illegal border crossings. There have been nearly 1 million encounters at the southern border between the Department of Homeland Security and illegal immigrants. The only effective means of controlling this massive influx has been a Trump-era public health policy known as Title 42, which allowed DHS to expel migrants during the pandemic; since March 2020, nearly two million migrants have been turned away under Title 42 authority. But the Biden administration plans to lift Title 42 in just one week, a move that will open the floodgates, further exacerbating a crisis we are ill equipped to handle. Yet the Biden administration has someone found a way to blame President Trump for the mess at the border. In a 20-page plan for how to handle the crisis at the border after Title 42 is lifted, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas writes that he inherited a broken and dismantled immigration system—something Americans know is untrue by just … [Read more...] about The Biden administration is blaming Trump for the border crisis—while using his methods | Opinion
Bizarre UK law which means boys are not allowed to see naked mannequins
Rule breaking and following the law are hot topics right now. But did you know there are a range of weird laws still in place in the UK, with some dating as far back as the 1300s, despite calls to have them repealed or abolished? According to some sources, everything from going to a fancy dress party as a policeman to sticking a stamp on a letter the wrong way around could land you in serious trouble. Many of these rules and regulations, however, have been forgotten about as they are no longer enforced. One such law makes it illegal for a boy under 10 in Scotland to see a naked shop mannequin. This law originally came about from the old Victorian "decency laws", when Britain was trying to prevent corrupting the youth. And this rule does raise some questions as to who would be held liable if it should happen - the boy himself, the shop owner, or the boy's parents? Needless to say, no one has ever been charged under this offence, but you might want to take a blindfold with … [Read more...] about Bizarre UK law which means boys are not allowed to see naked mannequins

An IHOP customer's temper tantrum about service that he deemed too slow was captured on camera Saturday night. The confrontation was filmed by onlooker Thomas Biddle, whose TikTok video has racked up 6.5 million views as of Monday afternoon. Another patron who witnessed the incident said on Facebook that it took place at one of the breakfast chain's locations in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Biddle's clip showed the furious customer berating a waitress for the time it took to serve his food, claiming that the restaurant should not be busy because he saw other tables open. "Busy would be every single table," he shouted while waving his arm in the air. "There are three servers on, sir," the waitress replied. "We can only do so much. If you don't like it, you can go somewhere else. Who else is open?" "Nobody else," the customer answered. IHOP is known for keeping many of its locations open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Woman receives mysterious decades-old letters, confusing even post office
A New York woman was left puzzled after she received several mysterious postcards written by her late mother and dated back to 1960. In early April, Carol Hover of Hornell, New York, received a postcard in the mail dated August 30, 1960. "The first thing I noticed was my mother's handwriting," Hover told WETM . "She passed away back in 2014. I found that it was postmarked from Canada in August of 1960. So, they would have been on their honeymoon." At first, Hover thought this card was a strange fluke in the system, but then she received more postcards. Although it's hard to measure, it is estimated that less than three percent of mail gets lost in the United States. If a package or letter is recovered after a search request is filed, the U.S. Postal Service will resend the mail. For some packages, the shipping label might have fallen off during the shipment process or someone used an incorrect address so it was undeliverable. Other instances include bad weather rubbing … [Read more...] about Woman receives mysterious decades-old letters, confusing even post office
