President Joe Biden is subsidizing businesses with 35,000 more foreign H-2B visa workers to hire for non-agricultural jobs in the United States, even as nearly 12 million Americans remain jobless. On Monday, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced that the administration would begin allowing businesses to hire up to 35,000 additional foreign H-2B visa workers for nonagricultural jobs in construction, hospitality, and landscaping. “This preemptive move by Mayorkas lets seasonal employers off the hook from recruiting Americans by offering better wages and working conditions,” Robert Law with the Center for Immigration Studies wrote . “Instead, the federal government will subsidize bad business models or simply further enrich employers by giving them access to more cheap foreign workers than otherwise would be allowed.” The administration announced months ago that they would help subsidize business by inflating the U.S. labor market even … [Read more...] about Biden Imports 35K Foreign Workers for U.S. Jobs, 12M Americans Jobless

Turkey becomes haven for superyachts owned by sanctioned Russian oligarchs
At least five superyachts owned by Russian oligarchs have docked in Turkey since the start of the war in Ukraine, marking an attempt by the nation's ultra-rich to avoid Western sanctions. For months, Russian oligarchs have scrambled to relocate their assets , including luxury yachts and private jets, to avoid having them seized by the United States and European countries. Turkey has since become a safe haven, as the nation has yet to impose its own sanctions against Moscow for its ongoing invasion. The latest superyacht, a $400 million luxury vessel dubbed the Flying Fox, arrived in Bodrum, Turkey, on Sunday morning, according to Insider. That ship is owned by Dmitry Kamenshchik, chairman of Moscow's Domodedovo airport. Other yachts that have sailed to Turkey belong to former KGB agent Vladimir Strzhalkovsky, steel mogul Alexander Abramov, and billionaire Roman Abramovich. As Newsweek previously reported, Abramovich sent a $600 million yacht named Solaris to Bodrum on … [Read more...] about Turkey becomes haven for superyachts owned by sanctioned Russian oligarchs
Buffalo shooter saw New York’s gun laws as his advantage
The suspected Buffalo shooter reportedly saw New York's strict gun laws as an advantage in the recent attack that left 10 people dead. According to the Buffalo News, law enforcement officials said that they believe an online manifesto was written by the suspected shooter, identified as 18-year-old Payton Gendron. In the manifesto , Gendron allegedly wrote about how he planned to "kill as many Blacks as possible" in the attack and decided to carry it out in New York due to its strict open carry gun laws, which would make it harder for someone to stop him, the Buffalo News reported. The Giffords Law Center states that New York State residents are prohibited from openly carrying a loaded handgun outside of their homes without a carry license. "The state also prohibits any person from possessing a 'loaded' short-barreled shotgun or rifle or an assault weapon outside of his or her home or place of business," the Giffords Law Center said. "New York does not issue licenses to carry … [Read more...] about Buffalo shooter saw New York’s gun laws as his advantage

Marjorie Taylor Greene likens Ukraine aid to “money laundering scheme”
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene compared the billions of dollars that Congress is rushing to send to Ukraine for humanitarian and military aid to a "money laundering scheme," saying that nonprofits are being funded by the "friends and families" of U.S. elected officials. Speaking Monday on a podcast about the $40 billion package making its way through Congress, the Georgia Republican said that federal lawmakers "fund nonprofits, they fund NGOs, they fund grants, grants that go to people, and if you really look into it, a lot of times it's their friends and families that operate these nonprofits and NGOs, and it's basically like money laundering schemes." Greene is among the 57 House Republicans who have voted twice against sending aid fundi ng to Ukraine during its war with Russia. Both rounds of relief passed overwhelmingly in the House in 368-57 votes, and the Senate is preparing to take up its vote on the second package this week. In March, Congress passed a … [Read more...] about Marjorie Taylor Greene likens Ukraine aid to “money laundering scheme”
Pittsburgh Tree of Life Synagogue rabbi warned of need for gun control before shooting: “Where are our leaders?”
Three months before Pittsburgh's Tree of Life Synagogue became the latest target of a deadly mass shooting, the rabbi leading the congregation warned of the need for gun control laws, lamenting the lack of action from the country's leaders. Multiple casualties in addition to six wounded, among them four police officers, were reported after a shooter opened fire in the synagogue in Pittsburgh's Squirrel Hill neighborhood Saturday morning. "Despite continuous calls for sensible gun control and mental health care, our elected leaders in Washington knew that it would fade away in time," Rabbi Jeffrey Myers wrote in a blog post in July. "Unless there is a dramatic turnaround in the mid-term elections, I fear that the status quo will remain unchanged, and school shootings will resume. I shouldn't have to include in my daily morning prayers that God should watch over my wife and daughter, both teachers, and keep them safe. Where are our leaders?" A suspect was apprehended following the … [Read more...] about Pittsburgh Tree of Life Synagogue rabbi warned of need for gun control before shooting: “Where are our leaders?”
Gab complains about “anti-white hate” after being called out for Pittsburgh shooting suspect’s anti-Semitic posts
Social media platform Gab lashed out Saturday after being called out for a raft of anti-Semitic messages that were posted by the alleged suspect behind a deadly shooting at a synagogue in Pittsburgh. Gab has long been criticized for allowing hate speech to fester on its site as white nationalists have increasingly been banned from other social media platforms. "Unlike Twitter, we take action against terrorists," the official Gab Twitter account tweeted in response to a question from a Buzzed News reporter about the social media platform's response to the Tree of Life Synagogue shooting suspect being named as Robert Bowers. The post continued: "Secondly, we are working with the FBI directly and they have our full cooperation to see to it that justice is served. Now tell us what you think about the anti-white hate tweeted by Buzzfeed employees constantly." The account then went on to tweet posts from Buzzed News reports it claimed represented "anti-white hate." Previously the Gab … [Read more...] about Gab complains about “anti-white hate” after being called out for Pittsburgh shooting suspect’s anti-Semitic posts
