Barrackpore MP Arjun Singh’s return to the Trinamool Congress from the Bharatiya Janata Party has sparked a buzz in political circles. After his ‘homecoming’, Singh spoke exclusively to News18 and attacked West Bengal BJP on a range of issues, while expressing willingness to take up any role that is offered to him by the TMC. Edited excerpts: How are you feeling after this ‘ghar wapasi’? Oh, it’s a great feeling. I was with TMC from the first day. It was three years of ‘banbas’ (exile) for me afterwards. A lot of senior people have been calling me since yesterday. So it’s a great feeling after coming back to my own place. Is this over jute price only or something else? Were you planning to move back for the past few months? I have shown and got the jute price ceiling removed. We always were under suspicion that we were outsiders, we came from the TMC. We were humiliated there by the BJP, but then also we stayed. Nobody speaks against Delhi but then also I spoke, I pressured … [Read more...] about Bengal BJP Run from AC Offices, Was Humiliated, No One Helps Workers: Arjun Singh to News18 | Exclusive

Bengal CID Plotting to Frame Me in Manish Shukla Murder Case: BJP MP Arjun Singh
BJP's Barrackpore MP Arjun Singh on Saturday alleged that the West Bengal Crime Investigation Department (CID) is "plotting" to frame him in the Manish Shukla murder case. BJP councillor Manish Shukla, who was a close aide of Singh, was gunned down in Titagarh on October 4. "I got hold of a chat of senior CID officers where they were discussing whether Arjun Singh has been framed. Going by this conversation, I am sure they (CID officers) are conspiring to frame me in the case," Singh said. The BJP lawmaker accused the CID of not nabbing the"culprits" who are "roaming freely" in the area. Senior Trinamool Congress leader Nirmal Ghosh dismissed Singh's claims and said the investigation agency is doing its best and Shukla's murderers and the conspirators behind the killing will soon be behind the bars. "We have better things to do rather than reacting to what Arjun Singh is saying. He is a 'bahubali' (strongman) in the area. The CID is on the right track. Soon, people behind this … [Read more...] about Bengal CID Plotting to Frame Me in Manish Shukla Murder Case: BJP MP Arjun Singh
