Woman Steals Charity Box From Store, Caught On Camera, Police Searching

As the boy looks for the item on the other side of the store, the woman slowly slides the charity box into her handbag. After the employee returns, the woman pays for the items and leaves the store with the box in her bag.Merseyside Police said the theft took place Saturday evening and was reported the same night. Two jailed over death of toddler who was confined to ‘cage bed’

Lauren Coyle and Reece Hitchcott, both 20, were found guilty of causing or allowing the death of 19-month-old Ellie-May Minshull Coyle following a trial, but cleared of her manslaughter. Liverpool Crown Court heard the toddler was found dead in her bed, which had been made into a “cage” with cot sides tied together around it, in the couple’s flat in Ward Street, Lostock Hall, Preston on March 23 last year. A post-mortem examination found her death was caused by “forcible restraint by ligatures in a face down position complicated by hyperthermia”. MPs reject three day parliamentary recess vote

The Government has lost a motion calling for a three day parliamentary recess that would have coincided with the Conservative Party conference in Manchester. MPs voted 306 to 289 to reject the motion the parliamentary break next week.  Meanwhile, Labour's Richard Burgon has said the soonest a general election can take place is November 5, with the House Speaker saying his understanding from his reading of the current law is "the same." It comes after Downing Street declined to apologise for the Prime Minister’s comments in the House of Commons on Wednesday.
