Joe Biden bracing for most difficult midterms in 48 years

June 23, 2022 by www.newsweek.com

President Joe Biden and the Democrats are facing the most difficult midterm elections in 48 years, according to new polling from Gallup that shows Americans' dissatisfaction with the state of the U.S. Gallup found that the mood of the nation is the worst it has been in any midterm election year since 1974—the year that Richard Nixon resigned from the presidency following the Watergate scandal and investigations. According to the new survey, just 13 percent of Americans were satisfied with the direction the U.S. is going and just 16 percent approve of the job Congress is doing. About 87 percent of Americans are now dissatisfied with the direction of the country and 82 percent disapprove of Congress. Biden's job approval stood at 41 percent in June and was unchanged since May. Disapproval of the president now stands at 57 percent, while 3 percent of respondents had no opinion. Gallup's latest poll was conducted from June 1 to 20 with a random sample of 1,005 U.S. adults … [Read more...] about Joe Biden bracing for most difficult midterms in 48 years

Democrats’ chances of beating Ron Johnson in Wisconsin, according to polls

June 23, 2022 by www.newsweek.com

Wisconsin Democrats are aiming to flip Ron Johnson 's seat blue in November's midterm race, with recent polls showing the GOP senator may face an uphill battle for reelection. Johnson announced in January that he would seek a third Senate term despite previously pledging not to serve more than two terms. Meanwhile, recent polls show that more Wisconsin voters view the senator unfavorably than those who view him favorably. President Joe Biden won the swing state in the 2020 presidential election after Democrats flipped the governor's mansion blue for Tony Evers in 2018. It's still unclear which Democrat will face off against Johnson on November 8. Wisconsin's primaries will be held August 9, with the top four Democratic contenders being Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes, state Treasurer Sarah Godlewski, businessman Alex Lasry and Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson. A new poll released this week and conducted from June 14 to 20 by Marquette Law School showed the … [Read more...] about Democrats’ chances of beating Ron Johnson in Wisconsin, according to polls

Final Two Polls of Tennessee Senate Race Give Blackburn Lead

November 6, 2018 by www.breitbart.com

The final two polls of the Tennessee Senate race give Republican nominee Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN-07) leads of eight points and nine points over Democrat nominee Phil Bredesen, an average of eight-and-a-half points. The Emerson College Poll conducted between October 28 and October 30 gives Blackburn an eight point lead, 52 percent to 44 percent . The Fox News Poll conducted between October 28 and October 30 gives Blackburn a nine point lead, 50 percent to 41 percent . As recently as a month ago, the Real Clear Politics Average of Polls showed the race as a statistical tie. But Bredesen has stumbled badly over the past several weeks, and Blackburn has benefited from her steadfast support of President Trump, who headlined a rally attended by an estimated 12,000 people in Chattanooga on Sunday night to support her candidacy. On October 2, the Real Clear Politics Average of Polls showed the race to be dead even, with each candidate receiving 46.5 percent of the vote. … [Read more...] about Final Two Polls of Tennessee Senate Race Give Blackburn Lead

Donald Trump’s approval rating hits record low in yet another poll

December 13, 2017 by www.newsweek.com

(Not) so much winning at the White House. President Donald Trump's job-approval rating has hit its lowest point in the Monmouth University poll since he took office in January, the independent research group said Wednesday. More than half of those Monmouth polled, 56 percent, disapprove of the job Trump is doing—and he's lost substantial ground among women and independents. About 68 percent of women surveyed, or more than two-thirds, said they disapproved of the president's performance, up from 55 percent who said they disapproved when polled by Monmouth in May. About 44 percent of men disapproved of Trump's work, up from 42 percent in September. Within Trump's Republican Party, the commander in chief's positive ratings fell by 9 points among women and by 5 points among men since September, Monmouth reported. Notably, "the biggest drop has occurred among independent women," Monmouth said in a summary of its findings. "Just 14 percent currently approve of Trump's job … [Read more...] about Donald Trump’s approval rating hits record low in yet another poll
