Cory Booker believes the Georgia election is being ‘stolen from’ Stacey Abrams

WASHINGTON — New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker said he believes the Georgia gubernatorial election is being “stolen” from Democrat Stacey Abrams. He spoke during an interview at  Yahoo Finance’s All Markets Summit on Tuesday.“There should be a federal investigation. Fire destroys Phoenix supermarket after roof collapses

PHOENIX — A three-alarm fire gutted a supermarket in west-central Phoenix during a monsoon storm Wednesday evening and authorities were trying to determine if the building was struck by lightning. Phoenix Fire spokesman Capt. Rob McDade says there have been no reports of injuries and the supermarket was cleared of people shortly after firefighters arrived. Crews from the Glendale and Phoenix fire department battled the blaze for hours after it broke out around 6 p.m. McDade says they remain at the scene still to contain hotspots. More than an inch of rain had fallen in a 45-minute span in the proximity of the Safeway store on 35th and Northern avenues before the fire. Phoenix Fire crews say they responded to a report of a roof collapse at the supermarket with a possible fire associated with the collapse reportedly in the back of the large store. Bernie Sanders agrees with Cardi B on Social Security views

Sen. Bernie Sanders is singing the praises of Cardi B after she highlighted the importance of Social Security.The former Democratic presidential candidate said he agreed with Cardi B about the significance of having a strong Social Security policy after the "Bodak Yellow" rapper pointed Franklin D. Roosevelt was instrumental in starting Social Security during his presidency."Cardi B is right," Sanders tweeted Wednesday. U.S. EPA to Help Six Communities Develop Sustainable Design Strategies

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced today it has selected six cities for technical assistance with sustainable design strategies under its Greening America’s Communities (GAC) program. The 2016 cities chosen for assistance are: Columbia, SC; Brownsville, TX; Oklahoma City, OK; Muscatine, IA; Honolulu, HI; and Multnomah County, OR.“EPA is excited to roll up our sleeves and start working with the next round of cities through Greening America’s Communities,” said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy. “This program is another example of EPA making a visible difference in communities—helping build healthy, vibrant neighborhoods and stronger local economies centered on environmental sustainability.”In the coming months, EPA will fund a team of designers to visit each selected city to create designs that will support a larger planning and implementation process for a pilot area. FERGUSON, Mo. — On Aug. 9, 2014, Michael Brown and a friend were walking in the middle of Canfield Drive, a two-lane street in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson, Missouri, when a police officer drove by and told them to use the sidewalk. After words were exchanged, the white officer confronted the 18-year-old Brown, who was black. The situation escalated, with the officer and Brown scuffling.
