The gruesome video filmed by a gunman during a mass shooting at a supermarket that left 10 people dead could still be found on social media two days after the attack. The shooter's footage was still being shared on Twitter on Monday, 48 hours after he filmed the violent deaths of his victims at the Tops supermarket in Buffalo, New York, on Saturday. Facebook 's moderators have also been battling to remove links to the violent footage on their platform. Police described the mass shooting as "racially motivated violent extremism," after 11 of the 13 victims were revealed to be Black. Officers arrested 18-year-old Payton Gendron of Conklin, New York, outside the store on suspicion of murder. Facebook and Twitter have been criticized for not making sure that the footage hasn't been fully removed from their sites. Marjorie Taylor Greene likens Ukraine aid to “money laundering scheme”
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene compared the billions of dollars that Congress is rushing to send to Ukraine for humanitarian and military aid to a "money laundering scheme," saying that nonprofits are being funded by the "friends and families" of U.S. elected officials. Speaking Monday on a podcast about the $40 billion package making its way through Congress, the Georgia Republican said that federal lawmakers "fund nonprofits, they fund NGOs, they fund grants, grants that go to people, and if you really look into it, a lot of times it's their friends and families that operate these nonprofits and NGOs, and it's basically like money laundering schemes." Greene is among the 57 House Republicans who have voted twice against sending aid fundi ng to Ukraine during its war with Russia. Both rounds of relief passed overwhelmingly in the House in 368-57 votes, and the Senate is preparing to take up its vote on the second package this week. “Judges should be worshipped”
After the Ayodhya verdict, a sense of anticipation and tension was quite unmistakable in Bhendi Bazaar, one of the most sensitive areas here. But people said they were happy with the verdict. “We want this to end here. Bas ab appeal mat karo [Don't appeal further in the Supreme Court],” said Gulam Mohammed Shaikh, member of the Pydhonie mohalla committee. “This is the most secular judgment. Kanoon ne sab ka saath diya hai . In judges ke photos har chowk mein lagane chahiye . [The law has been on everyone's side. The photos of these judges should be hung on each crossroad],” said Vinod Divecha, a resident. But many people preferred to stay indoors. More than half the shops were closed. “ Sab log kaam chhodke TV dekh rahe hein . Ye sab media ka kaam hai, warna kisko itna waqt hai ? [Everyone's at home watching the verdict on TV. The media has hyped it; who has so much time these days]”, a policeman asked. S.V. Pathan, senior Police Inspector, Pydhonie Police … [Read more...] about “Judges should be worshipped”

For Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, it was a long and tense day. As details of the Allahabad High Court judgment came in late on Thursday afternoon, he was closeted with political colleagues at 7 Race Course Road. ‘Vikram’ audio launch: Suriya plays a cameo, Kamal Haasan and Pa Ranjith to collaborate
A young Lokesh Kanagaraj used to often hear stories of how Kamal Haasan would go to the terrace of his Alwarpet residence to get fresh air, and would sometimes wave at fans waiting below. But he landed the rare opportunity to say ‘action and cut’ to his “cinema aandavar ”. And that too in his fourth film, Vikram , which marks Kamal’s 232 film. Speaking at the recent audio and trailer launch of Vikram , Lokesh recalled his journey thus far which now seems to have come a full circle. “I am a believer. I have told this many times, I learnt all aspects of filmmaking by watching Kamal sir’s films. I’ve been blessed to have this opportunity to work with him. I believe in commitment towards work. Before Vikram , there was a nine-year journey that has led to where I am today.
