A GIRL has died after being hit by a car in Salford this morning. Police confirmed the eight-year-old died at the scene and a man has been arrested. A 24-year-old was taken into custody on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The youngster was walking in Monton when she was struck by a blue Vauxhall Corsa. She was treated by medics but pronounced dead. The Mirror reports Police Sergeant Lee Westhead, of Greater Manchester Police’s serious collision investigation unit, said: “Tragically, a young child lost her life this morning and we are doing all we can to support her family at this devastating time. “I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with any information to please get in touch with my team on 0161 856 4741.” We pay for your stories!
