RANCHI: The Tata Steel on Thursday said it is geared up for hosting the fifth edition of Samvaad, a tribal conclave which witnesses participation from different parts of the country and abroad, in Jamshedpur next week. This year’s Samvaad, to be held in between November 15 and November 19, has been themed on ‘coming together for social change’. Sourav Roy , the chief of Tata Steel’s corporate social responsibility arm, said over 1,400 representatives from different tribal communities spread over 25 states are due to attend the conclave. Samvaad is described by the company as a platform for the tribal communities to exchange their culture, knowledge, common concerns and their solutions. The first edition, held in 2014, was attended by 1,500 delegates. Last year’s conclave was based on ‘Aspirations for tribal youth and leadership for future’. The company said besides exchanges of ideas, the conclave will focus on climate change . About 75 handicraft stalls and tribal cuisines will reflect 17 states while scholars and over 100 tribal healers will attend the event.
