A BRITISH holidaymaker has died of a heart attack while kayaking off a beach in the Ibizan resort of San Antonio. Lifeguards alerted the emergency services and went to the 67-year-old’s aid after seeing he was in difficulties. They gave him CPR after he went into cardiac arrest before paramedics took over following their arrival – but they were unable to save him. The tragedy happened around 5.30pm yesterday Es Pouet beach, which is walking distance from San Antonio but less crowded than its larger neighbouring beach S’Arenal. It is popular with families and children and named after an old well located on the shore. Watersports on offer include inflatables, jet skis and kayaking. Civil Guard officers are leading a routine investigation into the unnamed tourist’s death. An autopsy is expected to reveal whether he had an underlying health condition which may have contributed to his death.
