Britain’s Got Talent 2018: Lost Voice Guy Lee Ridley is crowned the winner after a spectacular grand final

LOST Voice Guy Lee Ridley has been crowned the winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2018 after a spectacular grand final.

The popular comedy act came in first place as the series drew to a close.

Lee, 37, won the title after a tense showdown with Robert White and  Donchez Dacres.

He suffers from neurological condition cerebral palsy which means he is unable to speak, so he uses a voice synthesizer to complete his routines.

The Geordie looked incredibly nervous as he waited for the results to be read out by host Declan Donnelly, and he went wild when his named was called out.

He was seen hugging Dec and bouncing up and down in sheer joy as he celebrated his win.

Speaking via his via his synthesizer, Lee said: “I have been blown away by the support of the judges and general public.

“I’ve had so much love for everyone and I’m grateful for it all.”

Lee even managed to make a joke when Dec told him he will doing his set for the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.

He quipped that he loves the Queen, especially her song Bohemian Rhapsody.

His big win comes after a sensational final, which Dec started with a spectacular song and dance number as he shimmied with a group of scantily-clad Brazilian dancers, did some high kicks and even completed a handstand.

Viewers flocked to Twitter to praise his performing skills, with many suggested Dec should be crowned winner himself for his sensational show.

One wrote: “Dec should win BGT with that opening 😆 Outstanding @antanddec #BGT.”

Another tweeted: “Dec ( @antanddec ) is really stealing the show tonight #bgt.”

Amanda Holden wowed fans by walking onstage in a sexy black see-through dress, while viewers joked that Simon Cowell and Alesha Dixon were competing over their matching plunging necklines.

The show kicked off with the announcement that the wildcard place had gone to the choir B Positive, who were previously given the boot.

Viewers were thrilled that they got a chance to perform in the grand final.

The first act of the evening was child star Calum Courtney, who wowed the judges with his high-pitched and upbeat performance.

Next up were the D-Day Darlings, who performed alongside a group of veterans onstage with them, and father and son Duo Jack and Tim.

Comedian Robert White, who went on to make it to the final two, made the audience chuckle but had an awkward moment with judge David Walliams.

He sang a song about being gay and in it he joked about David, who is straight, coming out.

LOST VOICE GUY: “I know what you’re thinking. The fame has gone to his head. He’s had a facelift. And it’s almost as bad as Simon’s.

“I went to the bar to celebrate. People kept asking if I wanted another drink.

“By the time I typed, ‘No’ they’d bought me one. In the end I fell over, so now I’m known as the Lost Balance Guy. I started off in a disabled Steps tribute band.

“We were called Ramps. That was a bit of an uphill struggle.”

ROBERT WHITE: “You say I should be straight and I ruined your plan but I can’t marry Amanda Holden even though she looks like a man.

“No, even though she looks like A-man … da Holden.”

At the end, David held out his arms and signalled to Robert he wanted a hug – but the funnyman just walked away.

B-Positive got a standing ovation from the judges after returning to the competition.

Lost Voice Guy Lee Ridley put on a hilarious and touching performance after bouncing back from his horror fall this week to perform in the final. 

He even managed to joke about his fall, blaming it on too many free drinks.

Lee said: “The truth is that after winning the semi-final, I went to the bar to celebrate.

“People kept asking if I wanted another drink. By the time I’d typed ‘No’, they’d bought me one.

“In the end, I fell over. So now I’m known as The Lost Balance Guy.”

The Giang brothers left the judges on the edge of their seats with their breathtaking acrobatics and they were followed by Welsh singer Gruffydd Wyn.

He transformed an Ed Sheeran hit into a soaring operatic performance.

There were also two people in the audience wearing masks of the royals and viewers at home were almost fooled by how realistic they were.

Ashley Banjo’s dance crew DVJ wowed the judges with their routine, along with Donchez Dacres who got an ethustiastic response from David Walliams for his catchy routine.

Judy Murray made a surprise appearance after comedian Micky P Kerr’s set to confront him about the joke he made about her in the semi-final.

After all the acts had performed, there was a saucy segment as the cast of the new Magic Mike West End show appeared with the star of the films, Channing Tatum.

There was also a surprise appearance from Big Brother stripper Lotan Carter, who appeared as a member of the dance troupe.

However, the routine was not loved by everyone and many fans took to Twitter to complain it was inappropriate for a family show, including former judge Piers Morgan.

Comedian Micky was still the first to be given the boot as the results came through, and the rest of the acts went before just Robert White, Lost Voice Guy and Donchez were left.

Donchez came in third and it was down to the last two before Dec confirmed Lost Voice Guy, Lee Ridley, as the winner.

However, the was an awkward moment shortly after the announcement as Dec asked Lee a question and then offered him his microphone.

The TV presenter appeared to forget there was no need to hand his mic to the act as he can’t speak – and tried to style out his mistake.

At the end of the show, there was a moving moment as Simon Cowell took to the stage and hugged Dec.

He thanked the TV star for bravely presenting the show alone after his partner Ant McPartlin cancelled all his TV work to focus on rehab after his drink-drive shame.

Simon told Dec: “You’ve dona an outstanding job”.
